Recreation and Wellbeing - Personal Trainer
General Job Description
Provide safe and effective assessment, programming, and instruction of fitness and wellness activities for individual and small group training.
Job Requirements
- Must have a current nationally accredited certification in personal training (ex: ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, etc.).
- Must maintain active certification throughout employment.
- Due to the nature of this position, must be 18 years of age to apply.
- Ability to clearly communicate in writing and verbally.
- American Heart Association (AHA) certification in First Aid, CPR, AED required within three weeks of hire.
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, lift and/or otherwise move items weighing up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time.
- Physical ability to move around and within equipment and facilities, including squatting, kneeling and climbing on stools and ladders.
- Must abide by the University of Idaho Student and/or Employee Code of Conduct.
- Must be able to pass a preemployment personal training evaluation of skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education in a fitness, health, medical, or other related field
- Experience training individuals and small groups
- Experience working in a collegiate recreation center or other fitness facility
