Special Education Teacher (High School)- Frenchtown School District

This is a full-time position starting the 2022-2023 school year.

JOB GOAL –To provide an approved education program and established class environment that fosters learning and personal growth; to help students develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continued education: to work with regular classroom teachers to deliver the educational program: and to maintain good relationships with parents/guardians and other staff members.

This is a HS special education "resource" position, involving both direct service delivery in the special education classroom and co-teaching in the regular education setting. The teacher collaborates with three other special education teachers and the school counselor in designing a schedule that best meets the current caseload needs each semester. The caseload has historically been 18-22 students with the assistance of an instructional para. A full-time speech pathologist, school psychologist, school nurse, two school counselors, special ed director, principal, vice principal, and CSCT round out the HS team. The district also contracts with an OT, COTA, PT, and behavior specialist part-time. This team is highly collaborative, supportive, and an awesome group to be a part of!

This position requires a valid Montana Teaching Certificate with the appropriate Special Education endorsements. Pending Montana Certification approval is acceptable.

Wage: $35,165 - $50,724 DOE
