2023 Undergraduate Summer Intern – Novartis Gene Therapies – Asset Lifecycle Management

194 students participated in a Novartis internship in 2022, and we’d like YOU to join us in 2023! If you want to learn what it means to reimagine medicine while being inspired, curious, and unbossed, then we welcome you to find your place at one of our cross-divisional internships that span 20+ functional areas.

Imagine… 2 weeks after the birth of your child you realize they aren’t meeting critical developmental milestones and after months of doctor’s appointments you are told your baby has a rare neurological disease that would impact how they would live their lives. This is the reality of parents whose children have Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and it’s the reason why we at Novartis Gene Therapy are laser focused on bringing hope and possibility to those devastated by rare genetic diseases.

The intern candidate will join a Process Engineering group and provide support on ongoing projects as well as daily activities for upstream and downstream process equipment used to manufacture gene therapy products. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated team player. This internship is not a hybrid position and will require the candidate to be fully on-site.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with process engineers to troubleshoot and provide support for production and development equipment.
  • Assist with process improvement projects
  • Participate in commissioning and qualification activities to support new product introduction
  • Manage and archive project related documents
