Cancer Therapy R&D Summer or 7-Month Co-Op

Accuray is looking for an Engineering student to join our Research and Development team in 2023 for this summer, or 8 months, starting Jun 2023, to develop cutting-edge medical device technology that treats cancer while working with collaborative teams to perform technical activities impacting the design of our radiation therapy products.   
 
The Project: 
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with aptitude and/or interest in microwave physics, electromagnetics, microwave measurements and in conducting experiments, as well as data analysis. This individual will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, depending on aptitude and/or interest, which will be focused on our electron linear accelerator structure design/testing or microwave system design/testing. By the end of this effort, the student should have a solid understanding of medical microwave electron accelerators, high-power microwave systems and design/development best practices.  
 
Desired Qualifications: 
  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics (or working towards it)
  • Good problem solving and debugging skills 
  • Enjoys working with lab instruments and data analysis 
  • Experience with LabView a plus 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Strong analytical skills 
 
The position may be in Sunnyvale, CA or Madison, WI
