Federal Relations Advisor
This position is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the Department’s relationship with the federal government and related major policy initiatives. The position works on matters that may be internal or external to the Department and includes an emphasis on researching and analyzing complex federal policy proposals that impact Department programs and the state’s economy. The position is responsible for leading interdivisional teams to develop and/or implement department-wide policy initiatives and programs including completing issue analyses and developing briefing documents for Executive Staff. The position will further serve as a liaison and technical support for federally related complex budget planning affecting Department operations and programs. The Federal Relations Advisor role provides direct support to the Secretary and Governor’s Office, including developing analytical and policy papers, recommendations, and talking points on federal issues.
