Real World Responsibilities:

During your time with us you will:

  • Design, build, test, and document new Genie boom products
  • Work side by side with our Engineering team on developing and testing new Genie boom products
  • Conduct analysis and testing to verify functionality, strength, and safety
  • Create detailed engineering documentation including design, drafting, and analysis on new boom products
  • Take ownership of real work assignments that will provide you valuable experience as you begin your career. Potential work assignments may contain the following depending on your expertise and experience:
    • Design of steel structures using Solidworks, analyzing with FEA, building and testing prototypes
    • Design, build and test electrical harnesses and cables for machine prototypes
    • Writing, debugging, testing code that controls Genie machines

 

As part of our team we will:

  • Provide you with real-work assignments that will provide you valuable experience as you begin your career
  • Guide you through Genie engineering processes by pairing you with experienced engineers

 

Must haves:

  • Currently pursuing an ABET accredited bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar field or graduated within last two years
  • Able to work full-time 40 hours per week for 6 months, on site, in Moses Lake, Washington
  • Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SolidWorks or similar CAD software
  • Ability to work in a team environment

 

Nice to haves:

  • Are adaptable, innovative, and proactive
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing
  • Experience in engineering clubs such as FSAE, Formula Baja, or similar
  • Experience designing, building or testing electric or hybrid vehicles
  • Experience with FEA software such as ANSYS, programming languages such as C+, C++, or Danfoss Plus+1

 

Start date is flexible

The compensation for this position is $26/hr for undergraduate interns and $28/hr for graduate or returning interns. This position is eligible for holiday pay, but is not eligible for medical benefits.
