Zookeeper
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide for the care and welfare of the zoo’s animal collection. Duties include feeding and watering animals, habitat cleaning and maintenance, food preparation, enrichment, husbandry training, assisting with veterinary procedures, data collection, and record keeping. The position is also expected to participate in habitat repair and other zoo maintenance duties (e.g., light trail work, pruning, grass cutting, fence repair).
QUALIFICATIONS: Educational background in biology, animal science, environmental science, psychology, or related field. Experience working with animals in a zoo or other captive setting. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Must be able to perform manual labor in an outdoor setting and lift 50 pounds.
