Human Resources Intern, Employee Engagement
Job Description
The HR intern will work to identify best practices and gaps in various communications to team members/employees. They will learn how to assess current state of an electronic communications initiative, identify opportunities for improvement, create a plan, set targets & goals, execute the plan, and collaborate with various stakeholders and managerial leaders to improve employee engagement within the facility.
- Identify appropriate resources for gaining insight to opportunities for improving communication with team members
- Define current state/tools where communication happens
- Identify through various methods opportunities for improving communication polling team members for how they use the current tools
- Design and/or develop collateral, such as training materials, videos, eLearning, quick reference guides, etc. using software such as MS PowerPoint, Webex, SharePoint, and others.
- Seek continuous improvement ideas for communication that will help the team's productivity and success through clear, concise communication when and where needed
- Design multiple communication channels, including Bulletin boards, electric monitors, PowerPoint presentations, digital signage, emails, & flyers etc
- Draft presentations for a variety of meetings, events and audiences
- Support on SharePoint development and design projects
- Support the execution of communications initiatives
- Support the Human Resources Management team with additional activities as needed
Basic and Preferred Qualifications
- Must be a current Junior, Senior, or Master’s student enrolled in a Human Resources Management, HRIS, Organizational Development program or another related degree.
- Minimum GPA 3.0 preferred
- Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms
- Excellent computer competency with experience with MS suite
- Strong organizational skills and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a high volume, production environment that requires flexibility and adaptability to change
- Ability and willingness to work independently
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience
- A self-motivated individual that is able to multi-task and lead others
