Packaging Engineering Co-op Description

As an AbbVie Packaging Engineering Co-op, you’ll participate in a paid, six-month program working on meaningful assignments that have a real impact on our business and patients worldwide. AbbVie’s Global Packaging organization offers you an opportunity to work in a variety of packaging formats and materials. Throughout the duration, there will be developmental and networking activities, along with relocation benefits and shuttle services from public trains stations for eligible students. Co-op’s will be expected to work from our North Chicago campus headquartered in north suburban Chicago, at least three days per week, in accordance with company policy.

 

Co-Op Location: North Chicago, IL 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in related discipline:
    • Preferred:  Bachelor of Science in Packaging
    • Considered:  Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Eng., Chemical Eng., or other related fields
  • Must be enrolled in school at the time of Co-Op 
  • Must be returning to university the semester following your Co-Op 
  • Must be able to commit to a 6-month program at AbbVie at our North Chicago, IL location (June to December).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong academic performance, minimum cumulative GPA = 3.0/4.0
  • Packaging material class completion or other relevant classwork 
  • Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and project management skills
  • Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative and integrity
