Description
The National Air and Space Museum's summer internship program provides firsthand experience working in a museum in an immersive experience including professional development opportunities, enrichment activities and opportunities to collaborate with other interns.
This is a 10-week, full-time internship that includes a $7,000 stipend. The program is scheduled for June 3 to August 9, but dates can be flexible depending on candidate's schedule.
In 2024, the Museum will offer the following internship projects in the Center for Earth Planetary Studies:
- Geologic Structures on Europa
- Detecting Titan’s Tectonic History

Requirements
National Air and Space Museum summer internships are available to undergraduate students, recent graduates, or graduate students.
You must apply through our SOLAA system.

Complete applications must include the following:
- Internship program application (found on SOLAA)
- Unofficial transcript
- Two letters of recommendation
- A Statement of Purpose (500-1,000 words) indicating the type of internship you are interested in and explaining how an internship will contribute to your education and career goals
When applying, you will indicate which project you are interested in on the Project Choices section of the application using the project titles above. You may select up to three projects, but do not need to choose all three if you are only interested in one or two.
The application closes on February 29.
