Job Summary:
BCC needs a Part-time Office Assistant who will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operations of our busy office. This position requires a person with excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, a proactive attitude which is flexible/adaptable, and who wants to become an indispensable team player.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Assist with general office duties, including but not limited to managing incoming mail.
- Hosting Events: Helping with events and hosting needs; including providing catered meals, and set-up for meetings and client events.
- Data Entry and Management: Enter, update, and maintain accurate information in databases, spreadsheets, and other filing systems for general employee information and gifts. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Office Organization: Help keep the office environment clean, organized, and well-stocked, including the employee breakroom.
- Support Team Projects: Collaborate with various departments on special projects and tasks as assigned by management and providing support to team members as needed.
- Building & Parking Access: Support the management of employee building and parking access, which includes building IDs, parking tags, and transit passes.
- Office Maintenance: Perform scheduled office furniture and office space upkeep, work alongside team to move office equipment, and assist with on-going physical inventory management in storage room.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires working in an office environment, generally 5 days a week.
- Requires lifting and moving of office supplies up to 30 pounds, on a daily basis.
- Job requires a Food Handler's Permit, which can be obtained during company hours.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in an office environment or similar role is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
- Resourceful and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive and adaptable work ethic which anticipates needs and handles unexpected challenges.
- Professional and courteous demeanor, with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Basic understanding of office equipment and technology.
- General proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
