Community Based Rehabilitation Specialist (CBRS)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Community Based Rehabilitation Specialist (CBRS) assists behavioral health patients to access behavioral health, medical, and social services needed to successfully manage their conditions. Workload is based upon patient needs and treatment/intervention activities designed to meet those needs.
SCHEDULE:
Part time - Maximum 29 hours per week
. Monday – Friday 2pm – 8pm with flexibility to work occasional weekends.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid state issued license.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and provide verification.
- Able to pass Background Checks through the states of Idaho and Washington.
- Within two months of hire date, completion of all required trainings and in service trainings in accordance with agency Training Policy 201.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of experience in behavioral health care, case management, or social services.
- Crisis Intervention training completion as required for practice within the department
- Excellent interpersonal skills needed in dealing with patients, families, co-workers and the public
- Ability to assess situations/systems to formulate plans, select appropriate interventions, and evaluate policies/procedures
- Strong leadership skills and problem-solving skills required with short and long-term memory proficiency
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (for illustrative purposes)
- Works with patient’s insurance or payer source to insure behavioral health and medical services needed are covered and authorized.
- Serves as member of patient’s treatment team.
- Works with patient to identify behavioral health, medical, and social services needed.
- Assists the patient in accessing behavioral health, medical, and social services needed.
- As assigned, assists Clinic Coordinator in tracking and reporting Quality Improvement measures for the Behavioral team.
- As assigned may plan, implement, and facilitates treatment groups.
- Complete any other tasks as assigned by the Nurse Practitioner, Clinic Credentialing Coordinator or direct supervisor.

- Complete all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Conduct professional communication with clientele and outside agencies to ensure high quality service is provided.
Public Contact
The CBRS employee interacts directly and indirectly with patients and families, medical staff, and other members of the clinic team. The CBRS employee participates in individual and group supervision sessions and regularly interacts with other department personnel to coordinate the delivery of patient care. Effective interpersonal skills are necessary; positive interactions between staff-patient-family-team members are essential for the development to therapeutic relationships and paramount for establishing and maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction.
