
(SY 25-26) Data Coordinator/Instructional Resource Teacher (DCIRT)
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Data Coordinator/Instructional Resource Teacher at Lynchburg City Schools, you will support new and tenured teachers by fostering a supportive environment. Your role will include enhancing instructional practices, increasing student engagement, and integrating educational technologies to improve teaching and learning outcomes. This position necessitates a proactive approach to professional learning and curriculum support, maintaining a non-evaluative but highly collaborative stance. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing student learning across all academic areas by leveraging data-driven strategies and integrating instructional technology effectively to improve academic achievement. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with educators to analyze student data, identify areas for improvement, and develop tailored instructional plans that utilize innovative educational technologies along with effective instructional practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Utilize various data sources (e.g., assessment results, student performance metrics) to identify trends and patterns in student learning.
- Serve as a resource to principals and classroom teachers in the area of data analysis and interpretation for instructional and school improvement purposes, as well as for overall data management and administration of state assessments.
- Create and monitor professional learning opportunities to ensure consistent support for elementary teachers through data-informed collaboration and instructional follow-up.
- Collaborate with Instructional Supervisors to provide division-wide professional learning opportunities for grade-band PLCs, and ongoing job-embedded coaching to build teacher capacity in high-quality instruction, scaffolding, and academic discourse.
- Work with educators to interpret data and assess student needs, strengths, and areas for growth.
Instructional Planning, Academic Coaching, and Gifted/DEPTH:
- Collaborate with teachers and curriculum specialists to design differentiated instructional strategies that address the diverse learning needs of students.
- Assist teachers in the development of personalized learning plans and interventions based on data analysis to support student achievement.
- Stay current with state and national trends, research, and legislation impacting core instruction through evidence-based research and professional learning opportunities.
- Lead the design and delivery of professional learning for a variety of stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to teachers in implementing data-informed instructional practices, curriculum development, and alignment.
- Work with identified DEPTH students weekly on critical thinking, problem solving, and other enrichment activities to extend their learning.
Technology Integration:
- Stay abreast of emerging educational technologies and their potential impact on teaching and learning.
- Assist teachers in effectively integrating technology tools and resources into their instructional practices to enhance engagement and facilitate personalized learning experiences.
- Provide training and professional learning sessions on educational technology tools and platforms for educators.
Professional Learning Community (PLC) Facilitation:
- Facilitate collaborative PLC meetings focused on data analysis, instructional planning, and technology integration.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging reflection, sharing best practices, and promoting innovation within the educational community.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Develop and support teachers in implementing assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness of instructional interventions and technology integration initiatives.
- Monitor student progress and support teachers in adjusting instructional plans accordingly to ensure continuous improvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- The candidate must possess or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License. (a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience)
