Description:
The Social Media Intern will support our marketing team by creating, curating, and managing content across multiple social media platforms. This role requires a creative, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about social media, digital communication, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, a keen sense of branding, and the ability to adapt content for various audiences and platforms.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok)
- Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to produce engaging and concise content
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Analytics)
- Ability to create visual content (using tools like Canva or Adobe Spark)
- Organized and proactive in managing deadlines and content calendars
- Experience or coursework in marketing, communications, public relations, or digital media
- Understanding of the university's branding guidelines and ability to ensure consistency in messaging
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Work Study eligibility required
- Preferred minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8
- Preferred class standing: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
Development Opportunities:

Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the Career Services social media accounts
- Develop and execute social media content calendars
- Create engaging social media content (e.g., posts, stories, videos, graphics) for multiple platforms
- Analyze and report on social media performance using analytics tools
- Work closely with the marketing team to promote career fairs, workshops, and other events
- Attend events (e.g., career fairs, etiquette dinners) to capture live content and post in real time
- Collaborate with the Communications Strategist to identify and share student and alumni success stories
- Ensure all social media content aligns with the university's messaging and branding standards
- Engage with followers and respond to questions or comments on social media channels
- Participate in intern meetings and professional development programming
- Potentially serve on hiring committee or student advisory group
