Special Education Teachers

Job Information
This regular, full-time teaching position for the 2019-2020 school year is at Kingman Unified School District #20. KUSD teachers enjoy many benefits including a four-day work week and a “45-10” school calendar that features three, two-week breaks in the Fall, Winter, and Spring as well as seven weeks off in the summer! The Monday through Thursday work week and 148-day contract provide for a work-life balance difficult to match.

Community/Other Information
Kingman is located in northwestern Arizona in the Hualapai Valley between the Cerbat and Hualapai Mountain ranges. Kingman is known as “The Heart of Historic Route 66” and is ideally situated between Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and the Grand Canyon. KUSD’s 2019-2020 school year for students begins July 24, 2019, and ends May 20, 2020. 

Minimum Qualifications       
The successful applicant will have or be able to obtain a valid State of Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and valid Arizona Teaching Certificate with any applicable endorsements specific to the position. Arizona offers an alternative path to certification for those with a Bachelor's degree who would like to pursue a career in teaching.

Salary and Benefits
The current salary range for this position is $33,000-$44,900 (this is the FY 2018-19 range and may increase). In addition to a competitive salary, teachers are eligible to earn $5,000-$7,000 in 301 money. Candidates offered and accepting critical needs teaching positions in math, science, special education and kindergarten will receive a one-time $2,000 stipend for the 2019-20 school year. Special education teachers case managing are eligible for an additional stipend of up to $4,000. The District also offers generous benefits including an option for medical, dental, vision and life insurance with no out-of-pocket premium costs.
