Helena Research & Development Technician, Idaho

Helena Research and Development has an open technician position. The position is full time hourly with benefits. There will be a vehicle for them to use. The office is in Paul, but the territory covers Rexburg, ID all the way to Homedale, ID. We will have projects all throughout southern Idaho in just about all the major cropping systems. There will probably be 1-2 nights away from home a month. The majority of the work will be small plot replicated trials testing herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and fertilizers. However, there will be some commercial scale projects as well.

Since this is a new program, what will be needed immediately is setting up the facilities (furniture, shelves, lab equipment ect…) and inventorying the supplies as they come in. Once the season starts moving along the job will be more along the lines of helping rate trials/record data, assisting with spray applications, pulling soil/plant tissue samples, helping harvest plots, and data entry. Technicians will need to be familiar with using ARM software.

Once the Idaho R&D territory gets up and running there will be one research associate, as many full-time technicians as needed (1-2), and as many interns as needed (1-4).
