Infrastructure Server Administrator

*This position could be located at our Headquarters in Anadarko or at our satellite office in Moore, OK*

SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Manager, IT Infrastructure, the Infrastructure Server Administrator installs, configures and maintains the physical and virtual server systems and storage systems necessary to meet the operational, compliance, and security needs of Western Farmers Electric Cooperative. Ensures system uptime by performing regular software, hardware, and network analysis and maintenance. Configures and maintains Windows, Linux, and storage related systems. Manages Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file servers within the organization. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following; other duties may be assigned. Manages day-to-day administration of Windows and Linux servers, user account management, and creating/monitoring automated tasks. Manages day-to-day administration of storage systems. Manages day-to-day administration of Active Directory. Manages the servers and storage within the data center to include hardware, operating system, and specialized software (such as Microsoft Exchange) and their associated equipment. Administrates Linux and Windows-based servers within both virtual and physical environments. Optimizes system uptime; performs backup/recovery functions; applies patches as required; conducts performance monitoring and tunes the system to ensure maximum performance; identifies system problems and solves them using advanced trouble shooting techniques. Evaluates and analyzes computer hardware and software products. Maintains a current understanding of networking and distributed computing environments, the principals of routing, client/server programming and the design of consistent network-wide file systems. Performs VMS system administration; manages VMS on alpha system; optimizes system uptime and monitors system security. Configures and maintains network-based storage; performs disk space planning and management. Works with EMS staff to configure, test and deploy patches for NERC compliance. Produces reports and other evidence to demonstrate NERC compliance with assigned CIP standards.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviors required: 
Education and Experience: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Systems Administration or a related field, eight (8) years of directly related experience in system administration in a business setting, and a working knowledge of Windows, Linux, and VMware. Directly related experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two (2) years of experience for one (1) year of education. 
Language Skills: Requires ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers and outside support personnel. 
Math Skills: Requires the ability to work with mathematical concepts related to the job duties. 
Reasoning Ability: Requires ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. 
Computer Skills: Requires ability to use applicable computer programming languages related to enterprise business systems; ability to proficiently operate personal computers using Microsoft Office Suite. 
Certificates, Licenses & Registrations: This position requires a current driver's license. Must have or be able to obtain Microsoft Administrator (MCSA), Red Hat Administrator (RHCSA), or VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certifications within 18 months or demonstrate directly related experience.
Work Schedule Requirements: Normally works a weekday schedule, but may be required to work evenings, holidays, or weekends. May be required to travel on short notice. This job may require a work schedule in excess of a 40 hour week.
