Vocal Music Faculty - Tenure Track

Priority consideration date is July 17, 2019. This position will remain open until filled.

Olympic College is recruiting a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Music (Vocal) that will begin Fall 2019. This position is tenure track, currently funded for 2019-20, future years subject to continued funding. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing vocal ensembles; these may include OC Chamber choir or jazzline choir (both auditioned groups) and OC Concert Choir (a non-auditioned campus choir). The position could include the introduction of other vocal ensembles or "special audition ensembles" of instructor choice depending on individual strengths. Other courses that candidate will likely teach include Music Fundamentals, Music Appreciation, Music History courses (various periods) and/or general studies courses in instructor expertise. Preferred candidates will be able to teach face-to-face, online, hybrid and/or through Interactive Television (ITV). Faculty may be asked to teach at any of the three campuses, day and possibly evening classes. This position reports to the Dean of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Masters degree from an accredited college or university in music or a closely related field 
  • Basic level computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
