Research Operations Officer

Oregon Tech is seeking applications for a Research Operations Officer for OMIC (Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center). This is a 12-month, full-time position located on the Scappoose campus in Scappoose, Oregon. The successful applicant is expected to manage and support applied manufacturing research at the OMIC campus in Scappoose, OR by organizing, directing and supervising the optimum day-to-day operations of research projects conducted by OMIC R&D technical staff. This position requires mature skills in personnel management, process design, machine tool operation and safety, and production floor operations. The Officer works closely with OMIC R&D non-technical staff, OMIC R&D industry members, vendors, OEMs, and university staff

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering related to metals manufacturing and metals manufacturing research, five years of employment experience in metals manufacturing and/or metals manufacturing research & development. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Commitment to the vision of OMIC R&D. Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Excellent observation, analytical and managerial skills. Ability to work well in collaborative environment. Ability to work well in rapidly changing work environment. Ability to motivate and support staff. Ability to create a positive working environment. Exceptional knowledge of metals manufacturing. Exceptional ability to manage and support technical staff. Excellent understanding of equipment and materials procurement and exceptional project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications: CNC Machine Programming (Catia and Master Cam). Machine Operation. Experience in providing training. Master of Science or Master of Engineering. Experience in Design of Experiments. Technical Report Writing. Experience in SolidWorks and experience in FEA
