Academic Specialist

Oregon Tech is seeking applications for an Academic Specialist for the Tech Opportunities Program for the Student Success Center. This is a 12-month, full-time position located on the Klamath Falls campus in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The successful applicant is expected to provide one-on-one and group academic support for a caseload of approximately 100 participants in the Tech Opportunities Program (TOP, a federal TRiO program). This support is intended to improve the retention and graduation rates of participants.

The Academic Specialist will also teach seminar classes and coordinate workshops related to student success, assist with TOP event coordination, and assist with the management of the TOP peer mentorship programs.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Student Personnel, Education, Counseling, or related area. Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Education, Counseling, or related area. Two years of experience advising/counseling college students. Experience working with academic support programs for disadvantaged students preferred.
