Scientist, Sensorial Biology Corporate Function Life Science TPT

We are seeking a highly self- motivated scientist with a strong background in cell biology and biological assay development/validation to join the Corporate Function Life Science Transformative Platform Technology organization. In this role you will develop methods and technical models to measure the interaction of small molecules with cell receptors, specifically GPCRs or TRPs. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide mechanistic insights and identify new lead actives that can be placed in products across multiple businesses to deliver consumer desirable sensorial experience.
 
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:
 
Development, optimization and implementation of a receptor-based assay for quantifying small molecule/receptor interactions to identify new lead actives for formulation.
 
Evaluate materials in either bench-top or high throughput screening assays.
 
Development and experimental validation of a mechanistic technical model for the interactions of specific small molecules with GPCRs and/or TRPs.
 
Application of the experimental methodology and mechanistic model to understanding the impact of complex mixtures on competitive binding and multi-receptor interactions.
 
Validation of lead actives efficacy in full formulation through cross- functional partnerships

 The successful candidate will have skills in cell biology, cell/tissue culture, and assay development. A degree in Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Neurobiology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field with an emphasis in experimental cell-based work on receptor-ligand interactions. Receptor biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and/or statistics background experience would be preferred.
 
You should have strong communication skills, written and oral, for documenting experimental plans, method and validation reports and experimental results and conclusions. Demonstrated ability to translate biological findings into information that can be used to inform / educate and deliver against the technical and strategic initiatives of different project teams.
 
Strong cell/tissue culture experience with deep method development and validation expertise, ability to independently troubleshoot biological based methods and experiments, strong collaborative skills, effective written & oral communication skills and ability to integrate their technical measures with other projected related measures and insights to drive project related strategies and milestones.
