Career Apprenticeship Liaison

Dorchester County Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a Career Apprenticeship Liaison. The Career Apprenticeship Liaison take a person's education level, work history, personality, interests, and skills into account and suggest careers that match his or her background and abilities. Their goal is to match people with jobs that will give them the greatest balance of financial payoff and job satisfaction. They examine student records, conduct interviews, and administer aptitude and achievement tests to gather information that assists them in helping students choose careers. They collect information about schools and programs, such as tuition, cost of books, and schedules for students interested in pursuing schooling. The Career Apprenticeship Liaison helps students develop career plans, teaches students job search techniques, and informs students about the labor market. They also keep records of their student’s job applications, cover letters, and résumés. The Career Apprenticeship Liaison is supervised by the Supervisor of School Counselors and the building level administration.
