Membership Cultivation Coordinator

Adventure Cycling seeks an energetic, well-organized and goal-oriented person to manage our member cultivation program; to write, manage and analyze direct mail membership appeals; and to write and produce membership-focused web content. The Cultivation Coordinator will write, test and optimize marketing automation sequences for converting new subscribers to members, onboarding new members, and renewing expiring members; develop and produce emails that cultivate and engage our members and subscribers; write and send advocacy emails to our subscribers, and recruit volunteers from our membership base.
The Cultivation Coordinator will conceptualize and edit a monthly email newsletter that will connect our members and subscribers deeply to our work. The position will also monitor performance and work to optimize all parts of our email communications program and report on email performance to the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Write, manage, and optimize marketing automation email sequences:
  • Convert new subscribers to members;
  • Onboard new members;
  • Renew expiring members.
  • Write and manage email newsletters to cultivate and engage our subscribers and members. Coordinate content across the organization to help all departments meet their goals.
  • Working with the Advocacy Department, craft effective online advocacy actions and involve our members in the work of the organization.
  • Monitor performance of emails against organizational KPIs
  • Work with our Outreach program to recruit members to serve as volunteers for Adventure Cycling

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A strong, compelling writer who can write emails, appeals and content that can engage people and move them to action.
  • Experience with HTML, Content Management Systems and image editing software
  • Analytical skills. Familiarity with Excel, Access and MySQL a plus.
  • Familiarity with email marketing best practices
  • Experience with membership organizations
  • Attention to detail

Education and Experience

  • At least a B.A. or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year of email marketing experience.
  • An enthusiasm for cycling, the outdoors, and/or bicycle advocacy issues.

Compensation and Workplace

The position will be competitively compensated in the Northern Rockies region.
