Software Systems Engineer (Entry Level)
The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL), a University Affiliated Research Center, has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for almost six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.
The Deployed Sustainable Programs (DSP) Branch, in the C4ISR Division at Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking candidates for an entry level Software Systems Engineer. He/she will work directly with program management, software systems engineers, software administrators, software engineers, software testers, and technical writers to ensure the successful program execution and technical solutions for the DSP branch customers, which include all branches of the US Military.
Required Qualifications:
. BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance
· Must be a US citizen
· Must be willing to travel
Preferred experience in the following technologies:
· Linux and Windows operating systems administration
· Familiarity with Virtualization Software
· Networking infrastructure and hardware
· Network-attached storage
· Hardware visualization
· Scripting languages
· Version control principles and tools
· Familiarity with SDL’s VANTAGE software suite and how it is currently being used by SDL’s customers is beneficial.
