Lead Teacher with Head Start

Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Consumer Studies or related field required. This is a full time (40 hours a week), school year position (August-May). Teachers may apply for unemployment over the summer.

Utah Community Action is a non-profit organization that provides a wide range of services to families in need. Housing, Weatherization, Utility payment assistance, Adult education, and Nutrition are some of the programs we offer. As a Head start teacher you not only provide an educational opportunity to young children, but you work with the family as a whole helping them become more self-sufficient.
 
 
Other responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for the safety, supervision, and activities of the pre-school age children assigned under your care.
  • Responsible for providing comprehensive case management for families in assigned classrooms.
  • One year of related experience preferred
  • Previous Head Start experience preferred
  • Knowledge of educational needs of preschool age children and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Knowledge of Family Services and Case Management
  • Knowledge of Head Start Educational Requirements.
  • Knowledge of internet, email, various word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to coordinate and assign classroom workloads.
