Mental Health Clinician
The Clinician is responsible for providing high quality patient care, displaying good skills in assessment, psychodiagnosis, treatment planning, group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy and discharge planning. The Clinician is expected to function as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts individual, group and family therapy sessions.
- Conducts educational group sessions.
- Engages in timely, efficient discharge planning. Works in close conjunction with patient, nursing staff and attending physician. Shows good knowledge of referral/placement process and available community resources.
- Completes psychosocial evaluations on assigned patients in a timely fashion. Displays good interviewing, diagnostic and report writing skills.
- Participates in weekly treatment planning for each patient, works cooperatively as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, completes progress notes and discharge plans in a timely fashion.
- Utilizes feedback regarding performance and uses supervision to improve performance.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Communicates with families and community agencies to further enhance referral development.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional (previously known as Chemical Disorder Professional)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) preferred
- Master’s Degree in Counselling, social work or related field
- Experience conducting individual and group therapy
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) and until 6pm
