Secondary Mathematics Teacher 9-12
North Idaho STEM Charter Academy, a public charter school of choice, is seeking a secondary Mathematics teacher.
Teacher Responsibilities • Establish a culture of high expectations for all students • Develop and implement inquiry-based curriculum and instructional practices consistent with STEM Charter Academy’s instructional guidelines and Common Core Standards • Actively engage all students in their own learning through organization and instructional practices • Know each student well - create productive and positive relationships • Be a master of classroom management • Assess students’ learning regularly in accordance with school policy, examine student data, and refine instructional and classroom practices as needed • Provide students and their families with regular and timely information on classroom activities and students’ progress; find ways to involve families/parents/guardians in their students’ education • Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, students, parents, and stakeholders • Track critical student information and maintain accurate student records • Actively participate in professional development • Collaborate with other STEM Charter Academy teachers to improve instructional practices; share best practices • Demonstrate commitment to STEM Charter Academy’s mission, vision, value statements, core practices and benchmarks, policies and procedures, operation instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of character • Adhere to Idaho State Code of Ethics Position

Qualifications - Candidates must: • Be certified to teach in public schools, either in Idaho or in another state with a willingness to gain certification in Idaho • Meet or be willing to meet HQT requirements in assigned subjects • Maintain an unyielding commitment to students’ learning: No limits, no excuses! • Demonstrate passion for the content and enthusiasm for taking students to a deeper level in it • Be determined to reflect on and improve instructional practice • Thrive in an intellectually challenging and rewarding charter school environment • Know how to analyze and manage data to improve instruction • Be willing to sponsor and attend student activities outside of the classroom • Possess multiple endorsements (preferred)
