Executive Support and Chief of Staff

ERPi has an exciting new opportunity for you to join us as an Executive Support and Chief of Staff in Washington, DC!
 
We are committed to providing superior support to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), assisting in the seamless care for Veterans, including access to a complete electronic health record (EHR) and shared, transparent care pathways with the Department of Defense (DoD) and community providers. Currently the VA is undertaking an enterprise-wide Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) effort through the procurement of the Cerner commercial electronic health record software, and with our help, this modernization will result in a common, single, lifetime health record that both DoD and VA can access, with anticipated improvements in patient care and safety.
 
In this role, you will support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as an Executive Support and Chief of Staff, to complete a broad variety of administrative tasks for leadership including:
  • Managing an extremely active calendar of appointments; composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential; coordinating data calls, and other front office ad-hoc support
  • Working at the senior level coordinating complex program elements in support of the SES. Develop program level products to ensure a successful implementation and to present to the key stakeholders
  • Coordinating work across pillar leads to deconflict risks and solve complex issues. Implement understanding of life cycle and project management methodologies
  • Providing senior level schedule, dashboard, and reporting support to include integration with multiple divergent external data sources
  • Tracking actions to closure
  • Identifying, developing, and using tools to track and communicate status of project and program metrics
  • Tracking lessons learned from VA, DoD and Industry, and use to drive informed decision making
  • Actively engaging project teams to set milestones, coordinate activities and ensure project goals are delivered on time
  • Thinking strategically to effectively assess clients’ situations and develop/recommend solutions to meet clients’ needs
  • Creating and managing internal and external relationships at all levels within an organization while possessing diplomacy and cooperative style necessary to work effectively with diverse individuals across functional disciplines
 

Responsibilities

Required Skills and Experience:
  • At least 10 years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific/technical discipline, or 18 or more years of experience without a degree
  • Experience managing Information Technology related projects
  • Well versed in life cycle and project management methodologies
  • Experience in tracking costs, schedule and performance progress
  • Must be able to identify and mitigate risks, be detail and task oriented 
  • Experience working to support large initiatives requiring enterprise implementation (eg, clinical practices, new technologies)
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results-driven, highly political environment
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in the VA
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
  • Understanding and experience working in a large healthcare delivery system
  • Knowledge of VA, VHA and/or DOD environments including structure, processes and stakeholders, and quickly respond to high visibility requests
