Design Engineer
Company: Designer and manufacturer of a unique piece of equipment for the transportation industry. Its customers are all the big OEMs - Mercedes, Lexus/Toyota, BMW, Volkswagen, Ford, etc.
Position: Product Design Engineer
- Develop 2D and 3D CAD data utilizing Solidworks and AutoCAD LT
- Prepare Raw Material Specifications
- Prepare customer specific documentation for submission following customer processes
- Evaluate documentation for revision
- Review documentation for accuracy to requirements and completeness
- Develop/Expand 2D and 3D Parts Libraries
- Develop Packaging specifications (carton, pallet) and associated documentation
- Prepare Customer Specific Packaging Form data, as necessary
- Prepare Finished Product Specification data
- Maintain and Update Pallet/Carton Configuration AutoCAD LT files
- Design and Evaluate new parts designs/concepts for manufacturability
- VA/VE - Evaluate existing designs for improvement in design, quality, cost
- Research projects
- External communication, written and verbal
- DFMEA, DRBFM Evaluation
- Design Reviews
- Product Verifications
- Sample Request development
- Development of logo/art files utilizing Adobe Creative Suite programs including Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat
- Internal Documentation development
- Process ECR/ECN and /or Specification Deviation changes
- Prototyping
- Design Suite Stocking and maintenance
- Review and reset Design Transfer samples for Production and Design
- Log samples
- Phone/Door support
Requirements:
- College Graduate or equivalent
-Must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship not offered
- Minimum 2 years applicable engineering background
- Familiarity with ISO, APQP
- GD& T experience
- Solidworks a plus
- Working knowledge of assorted CAD, AutoCad LT, Adobe Illustrator and other graphic design software and file formats
- Microsoft Office knowledge
- Excellent mathematics ability
- Able to work independently and with other departments as needed
- Excellent organizational ability
- General Office skills with
- Able to multitask to meet short timelines
- Physical Demands: Sit up to 8 hours on a regular basis and able to lift 10 pounds on a regular basis, 25 pounds on an occasional basis, 30 pounds on rare occasions
Salary Range: up to $90K
· medical, dental, vision insurance after 60 days of employment

· 401K after 6 months of employment - company matches half of the first 6% an employee contributes to 401k
· PTO after 90 days of employment as follows: up to 1 year --> no vacation but Christmas vacation is PTO; 1-2 years --> 1 week vacation + Christmas vacation; +2 years --> 2 weeks vacation + Christmas vacation; +5 years --> 3 weeks vacation + Christmas vacation
