Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
The primary responsibilities of this role Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Projects Engineer, are to: 
 
  • Work as a member of project teams to develop project scope and design;
  • Develop business cases for project justification;
  • Manage construction phase of projects;
  • Produce appropriate documentation for project closure and historical records;
  • Develop detailed E&I design for assigned projects;
  • Direct designers/drafters in the creation/modification of various types of E&I drawings in support of assigned projects;
  • Manage E&I work during construction phase of projects this include supervision of contract resources and coordination with other members of the project team and maintenance/operations personnel;
  • Review and evaluate vendor information for instrumentation and electrical components and determine suitability for specific project applications;
  • Prepare maintenance plans for restoring equipment to operating condition in a minimum amount of time, balancing repair cost and minimizing future failures;
  • Create and modify documentation related to process operation safety and applicable regulations as needed – including electrical drawings and engineering flow diagrams/ Piping and instrumentation (P&ID) diagrams;
  • Create documentation required for project closure including project files;
  • Mentor and train other engineers and technicians;
  • Comply with plant safety rules and actively work to improve safety through coaching or engineered improvements;
  • Possess and utilize a working knowledge of engineering tools and software and ability to read and understand process flow diagrams, line drawings P&ID and schematics.

Required Qualifications:
 
Education:
 
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering;
  • Two years of Engineering experience;
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written;
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills and a high degree of personal initiative;
  • Ability to perform work in a manufacturing plant environment, including ascending/descending stairs and ladders;
  • Strong safety ethic;
  • Computer proficiency in Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
