Bioinformatics Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a The Bioinformatics Analyst will be part of the Genomics Discovery team and will implement bioinformatic workflows and relational databases to analyze and store genomic data, and develop web interfaces to enable the discovery of novel therapeutic solutions from LifeMine’s private fungal genomic datasets. This position is located in our Manhattan, NY offices.
Job Responsibilities
 Implement and maintain databases for storing and manipulating genomic data
 Develop web interfaces for genomic data interpretation and dissemination
 Maintain a current knowledge of data related technologies.
 Contribute in the design and development of cloud-based bioinformatic workflows
 Maintain a current knowledge of data related technologies.
 Follow software development best practices

Job Requirements

 2+ years of software engineering experience in the bioinformatics and genomics space
 BS or MS in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related field.
 Proficiency in at least one major scripting language (Python, Perl, PHP, or similar)
 Proficiency in relational database development (Postgres, MySQL, or similar)
 Proficiency with Linux and basic shell commands
 Excellent communication skills and a team attitude

Preferred Qualifications

 Familiarity with publicly available genomics resources
 Data visualization and analysis experience
 Web development experience in HTML/CSS/jQuery
