POSITION:                Instructional Facilitator
LOCATION:              Lander Middle School (grades 6-8)
SALARY:                   $48,650 minimum (Master’s degree required or equivalent experience) starting base salary
                                     (based on 2019-20 salary schedule); full benefits
CONTRACT:             Full-time, 185-day contract
START DATE:           August 2020

QUALIFICATIONS:  Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a teaching certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board. Candidates must hold a master’s degree or have 10+ years of teaching experience and successfully completed appropriate graduate level coursework. Other desired qualifications include: Comprehensive understanding about effective teaching strategies and student learning; working in professional learning communities; experience in assessing student skills and using assessment results to guide instruction; strong mentoring and coaching skills; experience in creating viable professional development opportunities for all staff; experience with Kagan Collaborative structures; proficiency scales; data analysis skills; excellent human relations skills; and experience teaching at the secondary level.
                                               
DESCRIPTION:         This position will provide instructional support and resources to teachers in grades 6-8 by: Modeling effective procedures, teaching techniques, and strategies; providing assessment techniques and interpretation to guide instruction; encouraging teacher reflection through coaching to impact classroom instruction; making on-going classroom and follow-up visitations as appropriate and necessary; developing teacher trust and maintaining good communication in a confidential manner; establishing regular communication with the principal; providing professional development to enhance instruction; facilitating regularly scheduled data-review team meetings; participating in ongoing professional development in best practice to support a comprehensive plan for school-wide change; and linking current research-based practices to classroom instruction. In addition to IF duties; the successful candidate will provide support and monitoring to students that are identified as English Language Learners (ELL); support to teachers to support ELL students in the classroom; deliver yearly ACCESS test using test results to create learning plans for ELLs and/or exit students from ELL status; will be responsible for ELLs at 6-12.
