POSITION: Special Education Teacher - Behavior Resource Room
LOCATION: Baldwin Creek Elementary (4-5)
SALARY: $45,150 starting base salary (based on 2019-20 salary schedule); full benefits
CONTRACT: Full-time, 185-day contract
START DATE: August 2020

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a Wyoming teaching certificate with an appropriate special education endorsement and must be highly qualified as a special education teacher. It is desired that candidates have experience working with students in grades 4-5; understanding of and experience working with children who have emotional disabilities; strong knowledge of the IEP process and electronic reporting; excellent knowledge of special laws, regulations, and procedures; knowledge of research-based materials and curriculum, RtI, and verbal de-escalation and restraint techniques (NCI); ability to provide instruction in elementary school curriculum; ability to effectively create, follow and implement IEP goals and paperwork; willingness to work with teachers and paraprofessionals to plan collaboratively to support and meet students’ needs; and ability to supervise paraprofessionals. 
Other desired qualifications include: knowledge of PBIS; knowledge and/or work in professional learning communities (PLC), (SEL), excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively work with students, staff, parents, and others.
DESCRIPTION: The successful candidates will become part of a special education team working with children who have emotional disabilities and other disabilities that affect their ability to participate effectively in the general education setting. The successful candidate must be willing to work as part of this team and with the regular classroom teachers for the identified students in helping them with emotional/behavioral issues and with academic learning.
