Traffic/Transportation Engineer

Robert Peccia and Associates (RPA), a 100% employee-owned firm, is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, forward-thinking Traffic/Transportation Engineer to join our Traffic and Transportation Group in our Helena, Montana office. This individual will work closely with our traffic engineering and transportation planning staff to help with the preparation of traffic engineering studies, transportation designs, corridor plans, long-range transportation plans, and safety studies. They will be responsible for identifying and evaluating improvement alternatives, performing traffic operations analyses, building traffic simulation models, and developing 3D concept renderings. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in transportation and the interpersonal skills to interface with clients and the public.

·        Ability and desire to learn new software

·        Self-motivated and willing to work as part of a team to solve problems

·        Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing

·        Experience with ArcGIS, MicroStation, SketchUp, Synchro, and Vissim desirable

·        Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, urban planning, or related field

·        0-4 years of experience in the transportation/traffic industry

·        Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field

·        4-8 years of experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, or roadway design

·        Professional Engineer licensure; PTOE Certification desirable

·        Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field

·        4-8 years of experience in transportation engineering, roadway design, or traffic engineering

·        Professional Engineer licensure
