Job Readiness Coach

The Job Readiness Coach’s key responsibility is to provide job readiness/career coaching and create service plans for participants to increase employability and competitiveness for available and desired jobs. Job Readiness Coaches will work in partnership with Case Managers to help participants successfully move through their program and achieve employment outcomes.The stability of this position depends upon individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.   

In other words, Career Path Services is looking for an Job Readiness Coach in Spokane - Peyton to join our team, to be an ambassador of hope.

ABOUT THE JOB

The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducts participant outreach and recruitment into agency-designed and/or approved Job Readiness workshops and weekly Career Coaching.
  • Creates and maintains monthly calendar of Job Readiness and Career Coaching workshops/sessions.
  • Conducts job readiness and career coaching orientation, conducts additional career exploration, work-skill, and employment barrier assessments and updates participant service plan as needed.
  • Develops job readiness and career coaching goals.
  • Schedules and facilitates core agency-designed job readiness workshops and career coaching clubs. Updates and creates new career coaching curriculum to align with industry best practices.
  • Connects participants to local professionals and businesses to provide mentoring, informational interviews and job shadowing opportunities within career interests and/or high-demand occupations.
  • Meets with participants (virtually or in-person) weekly or as frequently as needed to ensure participant progress is taking place.
  • Orients the participant on next steps, including any ongoing mentoring relationships the participant will maintain beyond Career Coaching.

EXPERIENCE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one-year of experience working with workforce development, social services, job placement, job development, sales, job coaching, employment and training, or related field.
  • Experience teaching/facilitation, curriculum development, and adult learning. 
  • Experience in resume development, teaching job interviewing and job preparation skills
  • Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; LinkedIn, and other business-related networking applications, as appropriate.
  • Must be able to work in a culturally diverse and fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and cultural competency.

Preferred
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in: Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Work, Communication, Workforce Development, Psychology, or Sociology. Appropriate work experience may be substituted for the education requirement. 
  • Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP).
  • Demonstrated success working in a performance based system and one-year of experience working with employers, job placement, job development, sales, workforce development, job coaching, employment, and training. 
  • Demonstrated success working with people from a variety of backgrounds which may include disabilities, criminal history, homeless, family violence, poverty etc.
  • Experience in public speaking and presentations to a diverse community.

Salary: $42k to 49k Annually (DOE)
