School Psychologist- Big Sky Special Needs Cooperative

Position: Full Time (1.0 FTE) Itinerant School Psychologist

Start Date: 2021-2022 School Year

Minimum Salary: $47,250 DOE

Job Requirements: Master’s Degree in School Psychology with Montana licensure or the ability
to obtain Montana Licensure. The successful candidate must consent to and pass a fingerprint criminal background check. Position requires travel during the day.

Big Sky Special Needs Cooperative is a special education cooperative serving five (5) North Central
Montana counties. The offices are located in Conrad, Montana, and provide Speech Language,
School Psychology, OT, PT and instructional services to 29 area schools.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Active member of the building Intervention Assistance Teams and RTI teams.

2. Evaluates referred students through measures which may include intelligence, academic, social/emotional, behavioral, and/or diagnostic assessments. (Will refer students to other agencies/professionals as appropriate.)

3. Participates as a member of the Evaluation Team on referred students and helps to determine eligibility under IDEA & 504 (when requested).

4. Makes recommendations to the IEP Team.

5. Consults with teachers in the areas of student behavior learning environments, teaching techniques, and alternative methods of instruction.

6. Provides inservice training when appropriate to introduce new information to aid teacher and staff functioning.

7. Cooperates with community agencies and parents/guardians to assist students at school, home, and in the community.

8. May provide counseling for individuals or groups to enhance educational or social performance.

9. Conducts appropriate research keeping current of new developments in the field.

10. Interprets school psychological services to teachers and parents.

11. Attends staff, professional, and interagency meetings as assigned.

12. Other duties as assigned by the director.
