Civil Engineer (Extended)

Current Vacancies: 

Portland Bureau of Transportation: The current vacancy is within the Engineering Service Division, ADA Rapmp Crew group. An ideal candidate will have good knowledge of MicroStation & inroads, experience with ADA compliant ramp design, strong construction management/project management skills and experience working with and managing consultants. 

General responsibilities and projects will include
  • Design of transportation infrastructures including ADA ramps 
  • Construction management of transportation related projects
  • Consultants management
  • Writing reports and making oral presentations
  • Develop an expertise in ADA ramp design
 
 
Portland Water Bureau: The Water Bureau currently has three vacancies.  
  • Water Bureau has a vacancy in its Distribution Mains Program. This position will have the opportunity to work on a large variety of potable water mains projects. Projects range from small diameter, shorter projects that are constructed in house to large contract projects. Large contract projects can either be designed in house or through management of a consulting Engineer. Projects can involve interagency coordination, unique aspects such as tunneling or boring, or work in high profile congested areas. 
  • Water Bureau also has a vacancy in its Design Section for an Engineer to support the Filtration Pipelines capital project. This position will play a key role in managing a very complex, high profile project to install large conduits to connect to the future Filtration Facility.  
  • Water Bureau has a third vacancy in its Special Projects Section. This position will play a key role in managing a very complex, high profile project to design and construct the Bull Run Filtration Facility.
