Social Media Marketing Internship

Outdoor Idaho Magazine isn't just a print and digital publication—we are a coalition on a mission to incite adventure and build community among Idaho's outdoor enthusiasts. In order to grow and cultivate that community, our team needs more hands on deck!

Outdoor Idaho Magazine is excited to announce the open positions of Social Media Intern in each of the categories listed below. OIM will be hiring one social media intern per activity category—from water sports like kayaking and rafting, to winter sports including skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and avalanche safety, to rock climbing, hiking, biking and more.

Activity Specialist Categories:
-River Sports (Rafting, Kayaking, SUP and other whitewater sports)
-Snow Sports (Skiing, Snowboarding, Snowshoeing, Snowmobiling)
-Mountain Biking & Cycling
-Hiking, Camping and Backpacking
-Trail Running
-Rock Climbing
-Skateboarding/Scootering/Other Urban sports
-Fishing/Hunting
-Consideration for other activities upon request

This position is open for students in Idaho who are passionate about the outdoors, savvy on social media and want to be part of and grow Idaho's outdoor community.

The Details—

Internship: This unpaid position is open for college students in Idaho who are passionate about the outdoors, savvy on social media and want to be part of and grow Idaho's outdoor community for school credit.

Timeline: This position is available to college and secondary-education students—regardless of educational institution—who are currently enrolled or recently graduated and reside in Idaho. The internship is available to start as soon as possible and go through the end of summer or can be extended into the fall for additional internship credits.

Work Responsibilities:
-Act as Outdoor Idaho Magazine's expert in the dedicated activity/category and actively participate in Idaho's community of those enthusiasts
-Research industry events in the state and promote participation opportunities to Outdoor Idaho Magazine's audience
-Create and re-share content related to their specific activity/category on OIM's social media platforms
-Engage with OIM's existing community on social media platforms and members of the specific activity/category community to unite all outdoor enthusiasts
-Work with the OIM team to ensure that specific activity/category is represented in print and digital publications
-Help create content and manage social media and email marketing campaigns
-Perform data entry and other administrative work (10% of the time)

Commitment: This internship's time commitment is negotiable, but requires at least five hours per week of work with flexibility in schedule and remote location.
