No onsite work at the museum or its offices is expected.

Remote spring 2022 internships are paid opportunities. We are pleased to offer a stipend in the amount of $3,000 to each intern for full participation in the program.

Internship Program Description

The objective of the Guggenheim Museum Internship Program is to provide practical training experience to undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing careers in the arts and museum fields. Interns gain a broad understanding of how a particular department functions within the context of a major museum, as well as specific knowledge and skills related to that department’s activities. Interns are assigned to one department for the duration of their training, based on qualifications and interest. Under the supervision of designated staff mentors, interns complete individual projects, attend meetings, and participate in ongoing conversations and processes within their department.

For a list of departments that offer internships, please see: www.guggenheim.org/internships/internship-departments. Please note that not all departments offer internships every cycle.

Museum Culture Seminars

Museum Culture Seminars (MCS) are weekly sessions that allow interns from different departments to come together to learn and connect. MCS include presentations by Guggenheim staff and other arts professionals, as well as discussions of current issues and trends within the field. In addition to professional development, the goal of MCS is to build community as a cohort and create an opportunity for social interaction among interns. MCS will be held via Zoom every Friday morning Eastern Time (ET) throughout the internship period. Attendance each week is mandatory.
