Architectural Design Technician

HAVEN Design Workshop, a dynamic, Client focused Bellingham area Architecture firm, is looking for an experienced Architectural Design Technician to provide additional design, drafting & project management support for our firm that focuses on residential, multi-family, commercial, care, and community projects within the Northwest Washington. An ideal candidate would have a great attitude, be highly motivated, and be detail oriented as well as being a team player that works well independently.

As an Architectural Technician, you will typically enjoy a 4-day work week (9-hour days) with the remaining 10% of your time spent enriching your learning, the office culture, and our community. As an Architecture firm, we strive to work closely with our Clients to create great projects that reflect their desired outcome. You will also be close to great areas for mountain biking, kayaking, snow sports and many other activities and about 90 minutes from both Seattle, WA and Vancouver, BC. In addition, in 2022, we are planning to build our office garden wall and possibly start construction on a mobile office.

QUALIFICATIONS
- B. Arch (or equivalent) accredited degree or relevant professional experience
- 0-2 years of residential, multi-family, mixed-use & commercial project experience  
- Working knowledge of SketchUp with an understanding of Layout       
- Ability to produce and coordinate Construction Documents
- Working knowledge of G-Suites, AutoCad, Creative Suites & other relevant programs
RESPONSIBILITIES
- 3D Modeling & Documentation with SketchUp & Layout
(Computer modeling, plans, elevations, sections, details, etc.)
- Project Coordination (Design Development, Con. Docs., Etc.)       
- Basic understanding of 2018 IBC, State & related building codes             
- Working with clients, consultants, agencies, & contractors       
- Site plans, As-builts, photos, and Construction Observation
- Structural foundation, framing and detail integration

ADDITIONAL VALUABLE SKILLS        
- Rendering, 3D printing, proposals creation, social media, etc.
- Google suites – Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar, etc.
- Basic ability with AutoCad for engineering coordination               
- Construction experience
