Career Advising Liaison & Cooperative Education Coordinator

The Career Advising Liaison & Cooperative Education Coordinator (CALCC) provides career education/advising to assist students in preparing and competing for internships, research experiences, professional employment, and admission to graduate school, especially within their assigned college(s). Additionally, the CALCC supports the university’s co-op program that maximizes opportunities for both students and employers. The CALCC works closely with their college’s administrators, advisors, and faculty, as well as the Career Service’s Employer Relations team and Director of Cooperative Education to increase connections and co-op opportunities between students and employers. The CALCC also provides tailored career education, co-op programming, and general advising to students and alumni.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a career education advisor and liaison between the Career Services and College of Business and Economics
  • Serve as the university's Cooperative Education Coordinator 
  • Support the Career Advising Team
  • Support the efficiency and success of Career Services

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience composing and editing business documents 
  • 1 year experience advising, mentoring, or supervising college students 
  • Experience speaking publicly, presenting information to individuals, small, and large groups

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Previous field or industry experience in business
  • Professional work experience in career counseling, advising/mentoring, student development, or career education, or in the industries related to their college assignment
  • Past participation in experiential learning activities such as internships, co-ops, service projects/national service programs, study abroad, research, national exchanges, or student leadership activities
  • Knowledge of and experience using career recruitment databases and on-line career information systems, including, but limited to: Handshake, Symplicity, CSO/Career Ladders, O*NET, Occupational Outlook, Idaho CIS, EMSI, or related systems 
  • Knowledge of and experience using job boards and social media for professional networking and job searches 
  • Ability to work effectively on a team and independently 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
 
This position will work specifically with the College of Business and Economics (CBE). It is a full-time, temporary position through June 24, 2022. Extension of position is contingent on funding.
