Early Achievers Coach (Pullman/Clarkson)

Community-Minded Enterprises (CME) has been serving the communities of Eastern Washington since 1999. Our vision is to provide integrated services that build resiliency in individuals and families. This position supports the overall mission and vision of Community-Minded Enterprises and Child Care Aware of Eastern Washington. Early Achievers (EA) is a program that supports quality childcare through coaching and training. Early Achievers Coaches offer coaching, TA, training and resources to child care providers to support each child’s learning and development. Coaches work with CCA of WA and UW to deliver onsite and virtual coaching to help providers, including centers and family home providers, improve the quality of their programs.

As the EA Coach, primary duties will include providing resources and support to child care providers enrolling in Early Achievers and moving through the Level 2 process in preparation for achieving a quality recognition level. Services will focus on enrollment, program assessment, access to trainings and implementation of training content, understanding of policies and procedures, meeting quality standards, and preparation for a quality recognition evaluation. This position will be based out of Pullman/Clarkston.


Requirements:

  • Assist licensed childcare providers to enter into & progress through WA State Early Achievers system.
  • Provide technical assistance in person, by phone and by email.
  • Assist providers to build capacity and carrying out quality related self-assessments.
  • Utilize QRIS coaching model to conduct program assessment & identity strengths & areas for improvement.
  • Provide ongoing support, training, and technical assistance to related EA participants.
  • Provide ongoing assistance and support to implement program improvement plan.

Qualifications:
  • B.A. or credential in ECE or related degree and minimum of 3 years working in ECE.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivate, prioritize work & manage time effectively.
  • Ability to maintain timely documentation/data entry into electronic data system.
  • Strong competency working both in a team setting & independently.
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Education programs & resources, including school districts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of childcare licensing program policies & ECE.
  • Experience coaching and/or training adults.
  • Excellent listening skills with the ability to give & receive critical feedback.
  • Ability to provide leadership, innovation, motivation & constructive feedback to Early Learning professionals.
  • Ability to work occasional night & weekend hours.
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural relevancy, diversity & inclusion.
  • Computer literate & proficient using all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must have current, valid driver’s license, insurance & access to reliable transportation & able to pass a criminal history background check.
