What this role is all about:
We are looking for an Applied Scientist in Le Sueur, Minnesota.
The Applied Scientist plans, leads and executes experiments, projects and production trials in laboratory and pilot plant settings; conducting subsequent data analysis and preparing project reports to develop new products/processes or to modify existing products/processes.
- Operate pilot and lab scale equipment.
- Responsible for designing and conducting experiments.
- Collaborates with operations to ensure success of new commercial processes and optimization of current processes.
- Writes project charters, experimental designs, completes data analysis and writes final project reports to facilitate excellence in communication.
- Record, collate, evaluate and interpret experimental data to make appropriate recommendations and documentation.
What you need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field required.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Experience in a laboratory or dairy plant environment preferred.
Where you'll be working:
Our presence in Le Sueur, MN, consists of the following locations; Le Sueur Cheese, The Friendly Confines Cheese Shoppe, Le Sueur Ingredients, Le Sueur Protein Research Center, and Le Sueur Business Office. These locations produce various types of cheeses, such as; parmesan, romano, asiago, gouda, muenster, Monterey Jack, and cheddar. They also run various whey streams, such as; whey protein isolate (WPI), whey protein concentrate 34 (WPC 34), whey protein concentrate 80 (WPC 80), and both pharma and food-grade lactose.
