Electrical Engineer, Entry Level

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Electrical Engineer to join the Test Facility Design Engineering (TFDE) team! As an Electrical Engineer on the TFDE team, you will responsible for the design and engineering support of state-of-the-art test facilities that support advanced technology development in the Naval Nuclear Program. The successful candidate will also be responsible for all aspects of electrical design, procurement of hardware and services, construction follow, shakedown, preventive maintenance and inspection, and routine and emergent engineering support of assigned test facilities. REQUIRED SKILLS *

Associate:

BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university required.


Intermediate:

BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of relevant experience; or currently or previously EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or SRE Qualification

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher
  • Familiarity with building power distribution design (3 phase - 480 Volt, and 208 Volt)
  • Familiarity with Schneider Electric/Modicon PLC design, programming and operation
  • Lab experience working in a testing environment on electrical/mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with project management fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly assess complex problems, and develop and execute plans of action
  • Demonstrated "can-do" proactive approach to work that demonstrates self-motivation, ownership and personal accountability
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal , teaming, and communicating skills
