Student Trainee (Office Automation)
This position is located within the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Services (ARS), US National Poultry Research Center in Athens, Georgia.
In this position, you will be responsible for providing clerical support such as using office automation software packages to create and edit a variety of standard documents for the US National Poultry Research Center.
- Use office automation equipment and software to type, edit, and create a variety of standard documents in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain and purge office files, directives, and reference materials.
- Receive incoming telephone calls and visitors and refers them to appropriate staff members.
- Send, receive, and distribute electronic mail and telephone FAX documents.
- Prepare and type travel authorizations, vouchers, and other standard office forms.

Applicants must be seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) and be in good academic standing (GPA of 2.0 or equivalent) throughout the duration of their program. Please see "Required Documents". The duties of the position must be related to either the student's academic or career goals.
All applicants must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a student on at least a half-time schedule at a qualifying educational institution in a certificate, degree, or diploma program.

Education: Completion of 1 academic year of post-high school study.
Applicant must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
Education: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree.
Education: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.
Applicants will be assessed/evaluated through application of the agency developed qualification standard for internship positions, which is based solely on level of education.
