Adventure Guide

Adventure Guide
Adventure guide positions include river rafting, kayaking, jeep, canoeing and hiking. If you are athletic, interested in outdoor sports, and are seeking the ultimate summer adventure, adventure guiding may be for you! Training is provided for all guide positions. Learn and teach others about local flora and fauna and the history of Alaska while exploring at sea or in the rainforest of SE Alaska. Gain valuable leadership skills while working with your team to provide safe outdoor adventure experiences to guests!

River Guide: As a river guide you will lead raft trips down approximately 5 miles of the Mendenhall River including a one-mile section of class II-III whitewater depending on water levels. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. You may also assist as a shuttle driver. Current CPR/First Aid certification required.

Sea Kayak: As a Sea Kayak Guide, you will lead clients on a kayak tour on the Pacific Ocean. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. Current CPR/First Aid certification required

Hiking: As a Hiking Guide you will lead clients on a nature hike in the Tongass National Forest. You may also serve as a deckhand on the vessel that transports clients to and from the hiking site. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. Current CPR/First Aid certification required

Jeep/Canoe: As a Jeep/Canoe guide you will lead clients on a backcountry Jeep tour on private logging roads and in 20 passenger canoes across Lake Harriet Hunt. You may also assist as a shuttle driver. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. Current CPR/First Aid certification required. You must be 21 years of age.

Lake Canoe and Kayak Guide: Lead guests on trips on Lake Harriet Hunt and in Totem Bight Historic State Park in Ketchikan or across Mendenhall lake in Juneau with exclusive access to the glacier’s face.

Each summer we welcome students and recent grads from across the country to join our team. Students will experience living and working in beautiful SE Alaska while gaining valuable experience in the hospitality and adventure travel industries. We offer competitive pay and 10% season completion bonus. Dates of employment are flexible to accommodate student schedules and return before the upcoming semester. Housing assistance is available on a limited basis.
