Social Media / Marketing Intern

Social Media / Marketing Intern
Idaho Water Users Association
Boise, ID / Remote hybrid
2 credits

Summary:
The Idaho Water Users Association (IWUA) is seeking a summer intern to assist in the development and execution of our social media program. Currently, IWUA office staff manages our social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). However, we are looking to create a program that more effectively conveys the message and mission of the Association.
One campaign for which assistance is needed is the Ag Water Safety campaign. Each summer, children and adults drown in Idaho’s irrigation canals. The purpose of the campaign is to spread awareness of the dangers of irrigation facilities. IWUA’s Ag Water Safety campaign runs through May-August each summer. The campaign will utilize digital marketing, primarily through social media and streaming accounts.
While a foundation for the campaign exists, the intern should be prepared with ideas to revamp the existing platform. This internship provides a unique, hands-on opportunity to create a program from the ground up.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Review current IWUA social media practices, identify areas for improvement and develop a plan to implement and monitor improvements. This effort will include a plan for content development, scheduling content posting and online interaction.
• Train IWUA staff to manage the program upon conclusion of the internship.
• Assist with content creation and editing.
• Develop a summer Agriculture Water Safety campaign using digital platforms
• Review and learn from performance analytics. Use analytics to adjust the program as needed.
• Bring new and big ideas to the table with a digital / social first mindset, as well as collaboratively build on existing concepts.

Qualifications and Education:
• Applicant should be a college student, with a focus on digital marketing / social media.
