Ecological restoration and education intern

The Michigan Wildlife Conservancy is a Non-profit organization based at the 259 acre Bengal Wildlife Preserve in Bath, MI. The MWC’s mission is to restore and conserve fish, wildlife, and habitat throughout the state and teach others to do the same.

This intern will report to Drew Monks, Director of Wildlife Programs, and will be based at the MWC headquarters in Bath, MI. The intern will be involved in trail clearing and maintenance, identification, mapping, and control of invasive plants, and collection of ecological data on all taxa from plants to amphibians and wildlife.

Another component of this internship will be assisting with a weekly day camp for 4th-6th grade students based on the BOSS (Becoming Outdoors Smart in Summer) program. This program introduces students to conservation and biodiversity through 8 weekly meetings focusing on different groups of species from trees to birds, frogs, snakes, and insects. The intern will both develop and administer programming.
