Civil Engineer
- If selected below the full performance level, the incumbent will perform the duties of the position, with a reduced level of responsibility and/or difficulty.
- At the full performance level, the incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of duties including, but not limited to, the following:
- Programmatic lead for annual and deferred maintenance, transportation management, Facility Asset Management System, architecture and engineering, signs, engineering equipment and software, public water systems, sustainability, and accessibility.
- Provides final approval on designs of major structures and facilities involving public safety and provides objective evidence to agency management and the public that the work is performed by engineers of proven competence.
- Provides engineering determinations on third-party design and construction projects, where professional licensure is essential for providing full confidence and respect to achieve cooperation on critical engineering issues.
- Determines appropriate engineering standards and develops special design or stipulations to mitigate conflicts and provide project oversite for the design and construction of recreation sites, roads, facilities, and other major Bureau assets.
- Provides statewide guidance and technical support for assigned engineering matters. Maintains working relationships with state and regulatory partners, as well as internal and external stakeholders.
