SD&I (System Development and Integration) is focused on designing, developing, and improving Diasorin’s diagnostic and life science instruments and consumables to create accurate, reliable, and scalable products. In addition to design, we are responsible for troubleshooting issues to drive improvements, verifying these improvements, and ensuring manufacturing is enabled to successfully produce and test our systems. We also ensure that internal Diasorin departments are supplied with prototype instruments throughout the development process.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Acceptance testing of instruments
- Verification testing
- Supporting investigations into instrument failures or design changes (including assembly/disassembly of instruments/submodules)
- Drafting manufacturing process and test instruction improvements
- Assist in supporting business operations through assigned duties under Diasorin staff supervision.
- Shadow and network with employees on cross-functional teams to gain an understanding of overall company concept including the Diasorin brand, customers, product lines/goals and all other aspects of service.
- Provides ideas to grow and improve the business. Participates in department meetings and connect points.
- Participates in designated, business-focused projects to research, propose ideas and solutions and present a final Capstone project at the end of the internship.
Additional Responsibilities and Duties
- SD&I Research & Development Intern will complete acceptance testing of instruments, verification testing and supporting investigations into instrument failures or design changes (i.e., assembly and disassembly of instruments and submodules), NES instruments and draft manufacturing process and test instruction improvements.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in progress required. Currently enrolled in a University or College Program that is accredited. Preferred Area of Study: Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Capable of working and communicating within a multi-site environment both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent Knowledge of
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Attention to Detail without losing site of the big picture

The hourly posting for this position is $20.00 Hourly.
